Music in the Fields
Forgotten Fields is a brand new music festival that was started this year. Over three days, it offers up-and-coming bands of different genres a chance to shine alongside a few headliners like Razorlight, De La Soul, The Horrors and Super Furry Animals. Also on offer was a real ale festival, some great street food, and glitter body art! Located in a very scenic area surrounded by fields, trees, and a lake, it’s conveniently accessible from London via the train to Tunbridge Wells. The crowd is a real mix, but you’ll definitely notice more families with small children than at most other festivals. Overall, the atmosphere is super relaxed, with people preferring to sit on the grass with a pint of ale rather than create a mosh pit – totally fine with me! As you can see, we were super lucky with the weather too – I really, really enjoyed it.

The Media Pass
The most exciting bit of being given a media and photography pass for the festival was that I was not only allowed access to go backstage, but I was also permitted to join the professional photographers at the front of the Main Stage! This was my first time doing live music photography, and it was so much fun. I couldn’t believe how close I was to Razorlight and De La Soul! Johnny Borrell of Razorlight Ohh, Razorlight. I love you as much as I did back in 2007. Taking pictures of the crowd was fun too! How cool are these guys? De La Soul made everyone happy. I’m not a big hip hop fan, but I loved seeing De La Soul live. Razorlight performing ‘America’ made me feel like a 16 year old again. Babies love it too! All this, in Eridge Deer Park on the East Sussex/Kent Border.
Many thanks to ID&C, who supply awesome wristbands and VIP passes to festivals and events throughout the UK, for inviting me to Forgotten Fields! The next festival I’d like to visit is Field Day in Victoria Park – Gemma from Two Scots Abroad travelled all the way from Scotland for itt, so I really should make the effort to walk/cycle all the way there next summer!
What I wore
Sorry I didn’t get any pictures (bad blogger!), but it was an Urban Outfitters jumpsuit (old – similar from F21 or in blue from UO), denim jacket from F21, H&M bucket bag, and black boots from Carvela (old – similar here).
