4 Essential Fashion Items for Spring 2015

I’ve been reading a lot of blogs and magazines lately, and I’ve noticed a few trends come up over and over again for spring 2015. The great thing about these trends is that they are not over the top, so they’re very wearable and easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. I’ve identified 4 items that make it effortless to refresh your closet for the upcoming season, along with where to buy them and how to wear them.

1. A Suede Skirt

Suede is something that we haven’t really seen that much on the street in recent times, but this year it is has become really popular in both high fashion shoots and high street shops. Choose it with buttons up the front for a nice retro twist, or go for corduroy if you prefer.

Find it at: Miss SelfridgeTopshop, H&M, All Saints, Zara or at a vintage store like I did.
Wear it with: a feminine blouse for a retro look, or a t-shirt and python boots like Megan.

2. Black Dungarees

Bloggers have been embracing the dungaree trend after the launch of Alexa Chung’s collection for AG Jeans. White and blue denim versions are also popular, but I feel like the black is the easiest to wear for those of us who haven’t owned dungarees since childhood.

Find them at: H&M, AG Jeans, Whistles, Asos, All Saints, Zara
Wear them with: a striped Breton top like Caroline or a feminine blouse like Amy and Liv.

3. Lace Up Flats

You’ve got to love it when flats are on-trend. This style of shoe has been all over my Instagram feed. What’s great is that goes with pretty much everything, even your dungarees. This is a trend that I’ll be wearing to work with my usual skirts and jeans.

Find them at: New Look, OfficeFree People, or Isabel Marant (more of a splurge!)
Wear them with: everything!

4:  A Denim Button-Front Skirt

It’s time to embrace denim! Full denim looks were all over the Spring 2015 runways (including Gucci and ChloĆ©), and have made it into the closets of the most stylish of fashion gurus. This trend can be adapted to your own style, and if you’re not ready for a full denim outfit, just try adding a skirt to your wardrobe.

Find it at: H&M, All Saints, Topshop, Asos, AG Jeans, Miss Selfridge
Wear it with: more denim if you’re brave enough, or a cream blouse and a leather jacket.

These trends are making me really excited about spring and I can’t wait to get my hands on the perfect items. I already have lots of ideas for some great outfits – if you need any inspiration, check out my Pinterest board that is full of amazing street style shots. Oh, and please forgive me for being such a huge fan of Alexa Chung!
